Press Release

Dumfries-Triangle Rescue Squad Gives Back to the Community

Back-to-School BINGO Provides Local Children with Needed School Supplies.

Dumfries, VA, August 16, 2011:  The Dumfries-Triangle Rescue Squad (D-TRS) will be holding its annual Back-to-School BINGO on Saturday, August 20th from 10AM to 2PM.  This event provides local school children with needed supplies such as book bags, pens, pencils, notebooks and paper.  All of the school supplies for this event are purchased by D-TRS and donated to the children and families that attend.  D-TRS has been serving the local community with Emergency Medical Services for over 50 years; Back-to-School BINGO is just one more way that D-TRS helps its community that it proudly serves.

About Dumfries-Triangle Rescue Squad

The Dumfries-Triangle Rescue Squad (DTRS) was formally organized on January 8, 1957 and began operations with one ambulance serving the Dumfries and Triangle areas of Prince William County, VA.  Today, DTRS operates out of three stations serving the communities of Dumfries, Triangle, Montclair and Woodbridge with over 100 active members.

Summer Call Volume Has ArrivedSun, Jun 12 2011

With the summer months upon us and the increase in activities in the Prince William County, higher call volumes for EMS units are not uncommon. While also supporting fire department calls and other local community events; D-TRS members are in the center of it all.

The ambulance personnel from Station 23 found themselves unusually busy this weekend. This was partly due to the unusual weather. On Saturday, June 11th, Ambulance 523 ran 16 dispatched calls and added on to a few others in a 24 hour period. Sunday’s crew was also busy and the pace seems to be continuing.

Members are always excited to serve and assist the community in their times of need. Volunteering is an exceptional way to give back to your community and to gain valuable life experiences along the way.

Won’t you join us?
